Tech Castings LLC, a leading supplier of Superalloy Investment Castings to the Commercial and Military Gas Turbine Engine and APU markets, has initiated a US $4.5M capital expansion at its Shirley, IN manufacturing facility. As a part of this expansion Tech Castings recently ordered a 100-pound Vacuum Precision Investment Casting furnace from Consarc Corporation based in Rancocas, NJ. The order includes startup and installation with delivery scheduled before the end of 2022. When completed in 2022, the expansion will more than double Tech Castings LLC’s current output capacity of hot section gas turbine engine, APU, and structural components for the aerospace industry.
The new Vacuum Precision Investment Casting furnace being built is equipped with high vacuum capabilities, state-of-the-art controls, increased automation with Teach Pour, and bespoke items that will give this furnace exceptionally high productivity for its class.
This order represents the 20th Vacuum Precision Investment Casting furnace ordered from Consarc Corporation for delivery in North America in the last 36 months. Globally, Consarc has received more than 30 orders for this type of equipment in the last 36 months.
