Description: 

Requires completion of two years of formal technical school training and five years of experience, or equivalent, and successful completion of the board exam for licensing as a master electrician. Reviews wiring plans for all projects. Plans and performs jobs of installing and maintaining a variety of electrical equipment such as control panels, cabinets, junction boxes, switches, etc.  

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Connects and disconnects electric-powered machines.  
• Diagnoses electrical trouble.  
• Works from wiring diagrams.  

• Planning may involve determination of method and sequence of operation and selection of materials to be used, establishment of work procedures.  
• Works independently and may provide direction to others, assembling and soldering operations on a variety of product parts, sub-assemblies following instructions, and using standard methods and procedures.  
• Dresses wires, follows color code in fastening, solders connections and cleans. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Attention to detail and good organizational skills 
• Understanding reading blueprints and symbols  
• Able to work independently 
• Shall possess personal hand tools 
• Basic computer skills required 
• High School diploma or equivalent 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar position or role    
• Salary commensurate with skills and experience

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time (estimated at 8-10 hours per day)  
  • Ascending and descending stairs and/or ladders  
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate manufacturing noise.  Hearing requirements include the ability to hear and respond to instructions, communicate effectively in loud areas. 
  • Occasionally work in spaces with noise up to 100 dB (with company-provided ear protection).  
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • May be exposed to dust or other irritants and electrical/mechanical/power equipment/heat hazards.  
  • Possible travel, working around others, and with others.

Preferred: 

• Experience using overhead and jib cranes 
• Experience with lift machinery such as forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift
